Thanks for the info. Yes, this is good information...
However, I found it requires extensive tweaks more than target audiences of this page can handle. Currently, I'm working on simplifying its process (maybe automated script), and will post the outcome. Please stay tuned.

In the compact flash howto, you typed had1 instead of hda1 in the fstab line. Just a little typo :) Thanks for the great documents; they're really helpful!

Very good informations , very good job. It was a good help for me but I would like to know if you have information to port dsplink for 2.6 kernel I don't manage the porting
Admin : 2005/May/9 _ 20:58
Thanks for the positive feedback. It encourages us to continue to improve the contents. As for the dsplink, did you give a thought to use the DSP Gateway, which is already in the Kernel? Is there particular function, taht the DSP Gateway lucks?

did you managed to use make install_modules INSTALL_MOD_PATH=$(targetdir) ??? or is it unuseful with your howto ???
Admin : 2005/Jun/1 _ 21:47
"make install_modules..." just works fine in my environments, after updating the "module-init-tools", as described in the FAQ,

Admin : 2005/Jun/3 _ 21:01
No, they are different processors, thus requires different kernel build.

Thanks for creating this website with all the information. Maybe you can help with my question CF services. My cardmgr has a segmentation fault after it reports watching 1 socket. I am running 2.6.12-rc4. I will assume there were no special patchs to be applied to the pcmcia-cs-3.2.8 source. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Admin : 2005/Jun/12 _ 22:01
Thanks for visiting this page. Yes, no patch is required to compile the cardmgr.
For your reference, I posted my file system at the download page. You might need to either (a) install 2.6.12-rc4 kernel modules or (b) update your kernel to 2.6.12-rc6. Let me know if this works.

If anyone know how to control LCD for OMAP1510, because the kernel of OMAP5912 and OMAP1510 are not the same, so I want to ask for the method to control LCD for OMAP1510.
Thanks!!!
Admin : 2005/Sep/3 _ 10:23
Yes, the OMAP1510 and 5912 are different devices, but the kernel configuration and its usage should be the same, as far as the device type is correctly set. Try
$ make distclean
$ make omap_innovator_1510_defconfig
$ make menuconfig
If this doesn't solve the problem, the mailing list should be better place to ask for help.

Thank you! It is a very good site for me!
And I try the USB Camera, but meet some problems.I unzip the osk5912_webcam.tar.gz and everytime I want to run the /bin/webcam , I need to set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Do you know the problem? And after running the /webcam , the system get stuck!! Nothing happen.....
Do you ever meet this problem?
Thank you very much.
Admin : 2005/Nov/26 _ 10:24
As far as the osk5912_webcam.tar.gz is extracted at the root, all the JPEG libraries should be stored at /lib, which doesn't require LD_LIBRARY_PATH. I updated the instruction to clarify this. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Hmm, that MMC/SD is basically what I was thinking about doing, so it's nice to see it all written down already.
Your note should say more explicitly "disable the CF support in Kconfig"; it's not just a case of plugging in only one type of card at a time. And MMC doesn't require SCSI; you can remove that instruction. :)

Hi. I want to use the USB Serial converter to convert my USB of osk5912 to RS-232. I did all the instructions on the page, but we stil can receive data. We are using GMUS-03, which has Prolific's 2303 chipset inside. Why...
Admin (2006/Jan/29 _ 15:40)
MMC driver
Thank you so much for the feedback. We will update the page shortly after confirming at our side.
USB/Serial
There seems two version of Prolific's 2303 firmware with the same device id. Let us know if this article addresses your problem.

Can you give some sugestion and idea on developing DSP side program by using Linux tools instead of CCS.
Thanks

Why don't you start with the example programs, provided in the DSPGateway spec (appenxid B)?
Enjoy !

Hi,
Thanks for your reply on USB/Serial.
I found that the linux boot up message showed the USB serial converter is detected by the system, but I can't find the module in the filesystem.(/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/usb/serial/)
Can you tell me whats wrong?
There is no module after I did all the configuration for USB/serial...

MAY

Is it possible to run linphone or KdePhone on OSK5912 starter board? Any issues running it. Has any one been successful in getting it running and being able to register with a SIP gateway. Further has the audio worked? Any information on this topic would be useful.

Hello!!
Do you know how to patch the patch-2.6.12-omap1-dspgw3.3.bz2??
I 've tried so many times .
It came out that it used "diff" to find the difference between the original one and the one that wanna add something .
Since every time I entered the command
"bzcat ../patch-2.6.12-omap1-dspgw3.3.bz2 | patch -p1" , it showed like the following :

Thank you for your information. Very good information !
I have try "Audio" (Howto -> Audio) and "MP3 Player" (Howto -> MP3 Player). And I found I need to modify somethnig.
when generating "osk5912_madplay.tar.gz" the "build_madplay.sh" should be fixed.
#1 PKG_ZLIB=zlib-1.2.2 => PKG_ZLIB=zlib-1.2.3
or may miss zlib source file
#2 when build some packages configure parameter need to be fixed
--host=arm-linux-gnu => --host=arm-linux
(my cross-tool is from ti 3.3.2)
Thank you again.
Admin (2006/May/20 _ 21:23) from 219.4.196.73
Thank you for the feedback. Yeah, the zlib was updated, and the script must be udpated as well.
As for the configure parameter, the change wasn't needed in my environment. I used gcc 3.4.0 & 4.0.2. So, I didn't change the script for this, but added the footnote in the howto page.

I have problem to get the compact flash to work on my system. I have the kernel 2.6.16 configure the way you show it on the howto link and used your basic root file system. The problem is when I call the /sbin/cardmgr program, it shows the error below.
cardmgr[753]: could not open /proc/devices: no such file or diretory
Also, I have notice when the system is boot up it does recognize the PCMCIA card inserted.
I would very appriciate your help and support.
Thanks
